The dates for renewal are now open.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires that all businesses that manufacture, process, pack, or store food, beverages, or dietary supplements for sale and consumption in the United States register with the FDA. 

Section 415 of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act also requires that these registrations be renewed biennially during the period between October 1 and December 31. 

These biennial registrations happen every 2 years during each even year. This year however a unique facility identifier (UFI) will be required for every facility to be compliant with 21 CFR 1.232(a)(2). 

The FDA recognizes Dun & Bradstreet’s DUNS number (Data Universal Numbering System) as an acceptable UFI.
