dicentra, FDA consultant and NHP consultant for the dietary supplement, cosmetic and food industries, has announced its partnership with not-for-profit Vitamin Angels to help in regulatory matters to bring multivitamins to communities in need throughout Canada.
Vitamin Angels helps at-risk populations in need—specifically pregnant women, new mothers, and children under five—gain access to lifesaving and life changing vitamins and minerals. In 2013, Vitamin Angels is working to reach 30 million children in nearly 50 countries, including the US, with the vital nutrients they need as a foundation for good health. Their next step is to bring these programs to pregnant and expecting mothers and young children in need in remote areas of Canada. dicentra came recommended by some of Vitamin Angels’ corporate partners as a consultant to help the organization meet all regulatory requirements for distributing vitamins and minerals to at-risk groups in Canada.
“We were flattered to be approached by Vitamin Angels. Our entire team was well aware of the organization and jumped to their feet at the opportunity to work with them,” reports Peter Wojewnik, Vice President of Business Development for dicentra. “We realized this wasn’t our typical service inquiry and we quickly decided to help as volunteers.”
Ann Micka, Program Manager at Vitamin Angels, will be leading the regulatory work with dicentra. “We’re very excited to have formed this partnership. dicentra came highly recommended,” states Ann.
Work has already begun and Vitamin Angels hopes that by late-2014 over 6,000women and children throughout rural Canadian communities will have access to lifesaving and life changing vitamins and minerals. To make a donation or learn more visit www.vitaminangels.org.
