dicentra is a leading Clinical Research Organization in downtown Toronto with a beautiful clinic serving the dietary supplement and nutraceutical industries. We are looking for a highly motivated, professional, and cutting-edge sales representative to join our business development team. The successful candidate would be a true sales hunter in nature, but present themselves in a very respectful and approachable manner. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role best suited to those with outstanding communication, strategic thinking, and industry knowledge.

As a Clinical Research Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying and assessing industry opportunities, and liaising with new clients. You will also collaborate with the Clinical Research Manager, Clinical Research Scientist & Data Specialist, and other team members to develop proposals that reflect the client’s clinical research request and budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and approaching leads, preparing and delivering presentations and proposals, and closing deals
  • Cold-calling prospective and current clients to develop rapport and promote dicentra’s clinical research services
  • Engaging with prospective and current clients through telephone, email, and in-person as needed
  • Developing clinical research service proposals and budgets within deadlines
  • Responding to all inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Developing the strategy and implementing new business development approaches
  • Meeting regularly scheduled sales targets and maintaining the business development pipeline for clinical research services
  • Reporting on the performance of all sales activities of dicentra’s clinical research services on a regular basis (and in response to ad-hoc requests) to upper management to inform strategic decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma is required
  • An educational background in science is not a necessity but will be looked on very favorably
  • An exceptional and proven track record in closing deals and possession of superb negotiation skills
  • Proven experience in a client-facing role within a clinical research organization; 5+ years (Must)
  • B2B-sales experience; 5+ years (Preferred)
  • Must be able to work quickly and diligently in developing proposals and executing contracts through collaboration with industry experts, vendors, and external sites or practitioners as required
  • Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team
  • Familiarity with the Natural Health Product and contract-clinical research industries
  • Must have an understanding of ICH-GCP Guidelines, Canadian and/or American regulatory frameworks pertaining to clinical research
  • Must be able to communicate the technical aspects related to clinical research flawlessly
  • Proven ability to plan, develop, and execute business development initiatives employing a targeted approach within a niche clinical research industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and organizational skills are an absolute MUST
  • Ability to adapt and thrive within an entrepreneurial environment where priorities shift quickly
  • Must be effective at building and maintaining relationships with current and potential clients. You will be the face of dicentra at meetings, networking events, and conferences for our Clinical Research Division
