Compliance Investigations Begin

It has come to the attention of dicentra that the Health Products and Food Branch (HPFB) Inspectorate of Health Canada has begun compliance investigation regarding natural health products currently on the Canadian market. Investigators have been requesting information to support claim substantiation as well as requesting proof of NHPD submission numbers for products without NPNs. Dicentra strongly advises all NHP manufacturers to submit product license applications for any products without current submission numbers. We also recommend that all scientific documentation used for health claim substantiation be kept on file throughout the life of a product.
