We are looking for a highly motivated, professional, and cutting-edge sales associate to join our business development team. The successful candidate would be a true sales hunter in nature, but present themselves in a very respectful and approachable manner. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role best suited to those with outstanding communication, strategic thinking, and industry knowledge.

As a Clinical Research Business Development Associate, you will be responsible for identifying and communicating with prospective clients, assessing industry opportunities, and generating ideas to enable sales expansion. You will also assist in proposal development that reflects the client’s clinical research request and budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Search out and communicate with prospective clients towards creating new opportunities for business expansion
  • Generate ideas to make the business organization attractive to prospective clients and generate ideas to enable sales expansion
  • Maintain meticulous records in CRM
  • Provide assistance in proposal writing for the organization
  • Provide assistance in marketing literature development
  • Provide needed education to clients on clinical research pathway for different regulatory approvals
  • Recognize and work in line with any change in clients’ needs and environment
  • Understand the services the CRO has to offer and communicate such varieties of services to the client
  • Upgrade self by attending industrial training programs, conferences, seminars, and trade shows
  • Attend courses to keep abreast of trends and technologies relating to the business organization and allotted duties
  • Read publications relating to latest business trends and emerging markets as it affects the CRO
  • Compose periodic sales reports, either weekly or monthly, and submit the reports to management
  • Research and recommend business strategy, both in the long term and short term to the organization’s management towards business expansion
  • Provide support in marketing literature and brochure development

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma is required
  • An educational background in science is not a necessity but will be looked on very favourably
  • An exceptional and proven track record in closing deals and possession of superb negotiation skills
  • Proven experience in a client-facing role
  • B2B-sales experience; 2+ years (Preferred)
  • Experience using CRM’s
  • Must be able to work quickly and diligently in developing proposals and executing contracts through collaboration with industry experts, vendors, and external sites or practitioners as required
  • Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team
  • Familiarity with the Natural Health Product and contract-clinical research industries
  • Must have an understanding of ICH-GCP Guidelines, Canadian and/or American regulatory frameworks pertaining to clinical research
  • Must be able to communicate the technical aspects related to clinical research flawlessly
  • Proven ability to plan, develop, and execute business development initiatives employing a targeted approach within a niche clinical research industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and organizational skills are an absolute MUST
  • Ability to adapt and thrive within an entrepreneurial environment where priorities shift quickly
