Alicja Wojewnik, MSc

Alicja Wojewnik is the founder and President of dicentra. For over 25 years she has been providing expert advice on issues related to safety, quality and efficacy of natural health products (NHPs) and dietary supplements. As President she is fully engaged in providing business focused regulatory strategies that help clients move forward with complex projects. This strategic approach to regulatory and scientific affairs, her long-standing government relationships and inspirational leadership have allowed dicentra to grow into a leading regulatory consulting firm. She is also dedicated to mentoring and coaching talented individuals and raising future industry leaders.

Alicja assists hundreds of companies in North America and internationally to successfully launch their products into the marketplace. Her focus is always on results that bridge the gap between vision and business reality. Her extensive expertise in regulatory affairs, product formulation and clinical affairs contributes to the business success of each of her clients. Before starting dicentra, Alicja continuously broke new ground in senior executive positions such as Technical Affairs Director at Jamieson Laboratories Ltd., and as Senior Vice President of Science at Leiner Health Products. Her passion for the industry and committed client focus has been a driving force throughout her career.

In 1999, she was appointed by the Health Minister of Canada to the Health Canada Natural Health Products Office Transition Team, where she played a direct role in the development of the current NHP Regulations. Her many government and trade association appointments include Health Canada Therapeutic Products Program Advisory Committee on Management, Vice President of the Canadian Health Food Association, Board Member of the Natural Health Products Research Society, and Board Member of the European Union Chamber of Commerce.

In the U.S., Alicja has been an active participant in all the key trade associations including the Natural Products Association, American Herbal Products Association, American Botanical Council, Council for Responsible Nutrition, Consultants Association for the Natural Products Industry and the Direct Sellers Association. Her involvement includes participation on advisory boards and authoring position statements to the FDA. Alicja earned her Master of Science in Microbiology and Biochemistry at the University of Gdansk.
